The judge described the crime as low to moderate, but it was still serious enough to warrant a conviction. Bhangal will be required to submit a DNA sample to police.
A judge has rejected the Crown’s request for a three-month jail term and two-year probation for Brampton businessman Bill Bhangal. The judge said that a prison sentence would be disproportionate to the severity of the crime and would be contrary to Bhangal’s “good character.” The Crown has filed an appeal.
