Checkra1n is a free, semi-tethered jailbreak tool for the iOS operating system. It works by exploiting a hardware vulnerability. It is compatible with macOS and is soon to come to Windows. However, before you start jailbreaking your iOS device, make sure to backup any important data from your device.

Checkra1n is a semi-tethered jailbreak

Checkra1n is a semi tethered jailbreak tool for iOS devices. It is currently only compatible with the Cydia package manager, but the developers are working on adding support for other package managers. Once they do, you won’t have to do a jailbreak update.

The Checkra1n jailbreak tool is based on the Checkm8 bootrom exploit, which means that it is not limited to a specific firmware version. Also, as it is bootrom-based, it can’t be patched by Apple. It supports all devices that use the A5 and A11 processors.

It uses a hardware exploit

The Checkra1n exploit can be used to gain access to a full file system on Apple’s iOS devices. It uses a hardware exploit called ‘checkm8’ and is only available for devices with the A11 Bionic chip. However, if you own a newer Apple device, you may still be able to use Checkra1n to access your device.

This method leverages a hardware vulnerability called ‘checkm8’ in the BootROM to access private data. This vulnerability is not patched by Apple, but it is not impossible to circumvent. Since it relies on a hardware exploit, Checkra1n can bypass Apple’s activation lock. As such, it is possible to reset a stolen phone.

It is available for macOS

Currently, Checkra1n is only available for macOS, but its developers are working to develop versions for Windows and Linux as well. If you’re interested in jailbreaking your iOS device, you can also check out the Checkra1n guide to learn more.

It is based on ncurses and has support for FastDFU and custom boot-args. TheĀ https://iosj.io/checkra1n/ new checkra1n GUI no longer requires internet access. To ensure safety, it’s not recommended to install the tool on your primary device.

It is coming to Windows

While there are no concrete details yet as to when the Checkra1n jailbreak tool will make its way to Windows, the development team behind the tool is working hard to get the tool into the hands of Windows users. The development team has already shown off a version of the jailbreak utility for iOS 13 running on a Raspberry Pi.

The GUI of Checkra1n is built around ncurses, and the CLI supports FastDFU. The CLI can also be customized with custom boot-args. The Windows version of Checkra1n does not require the internet to open. If you’d prefer to use the Mac version of the app, you can build a Hackintosh version of the application on your Windows machine. The instructions are available here.

It is not compatible with older iPad models

As of this writing, the Checkra1n app does not support older iPad models. This means that if you have an iPad that runs iOS 14.6 or older, you will need to upgrade your operating system in order to make use of the new app. However, the checkra1n app still works on iOS 14.8 and earlier.

It supports all iPhone models from the 5s through the X, along with a few iPad models. It also supports the Apple TV HD and 4K models. The software also supports iOS 12.3 to 13.5. It also partially supports HomePod. Checkra1n is also compatible with Linux.
